Side Quest Daily ("we", "us", or "our") is a mobile app that gives you one small daily challenge. We have built it to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what we do and do not collect.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, or any account information — there are no accounts
- Your photos — any photo you take or upload is processed entirely on your device and saved only to your own camera roll
- Your location
- Any advertising or tracking identifiers
2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following is saved only on your device using standard on-device storage and never sent to us:
- Whether you have completed today's quest
- Your current streak count
- Your sound preference (on or off)
- Whether you have completed the onboarding screen
You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the app.
3. Third-Party Services
Side Quest Daily uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Firebase (Google LLC)
We use Firebase, a platform provided by Google LLC, for two limited purposes:
- Firestore: to fetch the daily quest content (title, description, hints). We do not write any user data to Firestore.
- Remote Config: to deliver in-app text without requiring an app update. No user data is involved.
Google may collect certain technical information (such as device type and IP address) as part of operating these services. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Notifications
If you grant notification permission, the app schedules local notifications on your device (a morning reminder and an evening nudge). These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device — no notification data is sent to our servers.
5. Camera and Photo Library
The app requests access to your camera and photo library solely to let you photograph or select an image to complete a quest. Images are processed on your device and saved to your own camera roll. We never receive or store your photos.
6. Children's Privacy
Side Quest Daily is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
